It is a thing of the past when teaching and learning were restricted to classroom sessions prominent with white chalk, dusters, and blackboards. The concept of Digital Class creates an environment where learning and assessment is fun and the opportunities to learn are equitable among the rural, semi urban and urban children. Smart Class is introduced in Government schools covering classes 6th – 12th to attract and retain children and also in the process, enhance quality of learning by making “Learning play”, “Assessment fun” and “Equal Knowledge for all”

These are technology enhanced classrooms that foster opportunities for teaching and learning by integrating learning technology, such as computing devices, audio/visual capabilities, networking, hardware monitoring and state of the art technologies to identify real time behavioral analytics of students using artificial intelligence.

The role of education, both in urban and rural areas, is of prime importance for the growth of the country’s economy. In India, education in the rural segments is not only important to eradicate poverty and illiteracy, but also for a variety of other social, economic as well as cultural and political reasons. Education is the most compelling means to initiate social alterations and improve community development in the country. IT based education is universally acknowledged as an important catalyst for social transformation and national progress. Understanding and leveraging IT based education is critical for the States continued social and economic progress

Establishment of Digital Classrooms:

As education continues to develop through the integration of technology in and outside the classroom, the mentality among many teachers has started to shift as well. There used to be a fear that technology would eventually replace the teacher, but the more prevalent view now is that it is a tool which can be applied to enhance conventional teaching rather than replace it. Integrating technology in education helps students stay engaged. Technology uses all interactive modules like videos and presentations and these visually attractive methods of teaching become appealing to students who are already struggling with the traditional method of teaching in a classroom. This is because the audio-visual senses of students are targeted and it helps the students store the information fast and more effectively.

  • By using audio/video modules in class, the involvement of students can be made easy. Technology can make them better understand about the concept.

Goals and Objectives:

 

  • To establish and enabling environment to promote the usage of IT based education
  • To enable students of the State/UT to become “Digitally Literate”.
  • To train the school teachers in effective delivery of education by using IT tools for teaching with latest methodologies & aids.
  • Set up modern ICT@ Schools with latest IT infrastructure where students get the best of IT training. Develop student & teacher competence as per NCERT and CBSE Guidelines.
  • Incorporate a Management Information System (MIS) for monitoring and reviewing the project on regular basis.
  • To provide an effective learning environment for children by providing interactive multi-media CDs to the students of primary and upper primary classes make learning a joyful

experience. 

  • To ensure the availability of quality enrichment of existing curriculum and pedagogy by employing ICT tools for teaching and learning.
  • Promote critical thinking and analytical skills by developing self-learning.
  • This shall transform the classroom environment from teacher-centric to student centric learning.

 

Program Management Structure: For effective implementation outreach of the scheme, an appropriate management structure is needed at the state and district levels for establishment of ICT at Schools , teachers training management, monitoring and evaluation, Hannah Education has got expertise of  program implementation in various States and UTs.
